Clean Creeks Challenge

Join us as we launch our first ever Clean Creeks Challenge. The challenge will take place this summer as teams work to do activities (i.e. stream clean-ups, streamside snapshots, and storm drain marking) around Charlotte-Mecklenburg to help keep our waterways clean. Hours volunteered by each group will be tallied up in the form of points. The teams will be competing for some awesome prizes for each of their team members. Check out this packet for more information.  Once teams have signed up, they will use this form to submit their volunteer work. We hope you will join in the fun!

Volunteer Program Overview

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services engages nearly 4,000 volunteers each year to help improve and protect local streams and lakes! We hope you will join us!

We have a variety of volunteer activities that can accommodate all ages and interests. Parents like our activities for teaching young children to care about the environment. High school and college students like our activities for earning community service hours or extra credit. There are activities for groups and single individuals and most only require a few hours to participate. Contact us and we'll help you find an activity just right for you!

Volunteering with us is a great way to have fun and support healthy streams and lakes. Everyone walks away feeling good!

Please see our Big Spring Clean photo album to see photos of one of our volunteer activities! Pictures speak volumes about the fun our volunteers have and the difference they make for our community!

Visit out VOLUNTEER EVENTS page to learn about upcoming events or click on any of the following links for more information about the variety of volunteer activities we offer.

All volunteers under the age of 18 must sign the CMSWS Youth Participation Waiver to participate in each event or program. Children 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children ages 16-17 that can drive themselves to our events may have a parent or guardian sign the waiver and bring it to the event.
