Microchipping animals is a safe and convenient means to help get lost pets' home. All our ACC Officers have scanners in their vehicles and can scan animals for microchips in the field. If we can locate the owner, the pet can be returned home without ever coming to the shelter.

You can also make a donation to our microchip program to help pay it forward for others to get their pet's microchipped.

 

ACC offers free registration of microchips in our local database as well as a free national registration with Home Again. If your pet has been microchipped by the ACC, your information is already in our database BUT if you have moved or changed your phone number you can update your information using the online form. If you have had your pet microchipped elsewhere and would like for your contact information to be in our database so we can quickly find you, we will gladly enter the information at no charge. Your contact information will be accessible to us and will make it possible for your lost animal to be returned home immediately instead of being taken to the shelter.

Pet Link Brand Microchips - Visit their website to find out how to register or update your information.

Datamars Microchips - It's best to contact Datamars via phone but you can learn more about their services and contact them via email at their website.

HomeAgain Brand Microchips - Go to their website and create a log-in name and password. You’ll be able to update your information and pet’s profile.

AVID Brand Microchips - In order to update your information with this company, you must call them. 

AKC Brand Microchips - You can enroll your pet’s microchip through AKC CAR’s, however, there are fees that go along with that enrollment. You can enroll online, via mail or fax.

Banfield Brand Microchips - If you have a Banfield microchip, you’ll have to ask your vet for the registration information and found out what the best way is for updating your information.

24 Hour Pet Watch Microchips - Go to their website and create a log-in name and password. You’ll be able to update your information and pet’s profile.

Microchip Checkpoint Partners

If you have found a lost dog, or you need to get the number of the microchip that your pet has to make sure it is registered and up to date, you go to any of our partnering locations to have the pet scanned for a microchip.
