Case Update: Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit has determined this case will be investigated as a homicide. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim's death is not a result of natural causes and detectives do suspect foul play at this time.

As additional information develops, it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Monday, November 11, 2019

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a death investigation in the 1700 block of Spring Forest Drive in the Westover Division.  The call for service came in at 9:10 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019.

Westover Division patrol officers responded to an assist medic call on Spring Forest Drive.  Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male in the home. 

The victim has been identified as Curtis Ford, DOB: 10/27/1940. The victim's family has been notified of his death.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are canvassing the neighborhood to determine whether there are any additional witnesses to this incident. 

Crime Scene Search has responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Medic, CFD and Operations Command responded to the scene. 

The investigation is in its early stages.  As additional information develops, it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
