Steele Creek Division - Detectives investigating a shooting in the 10500 block of Glory Meadow Court

On Sunday, December 16, 2018, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Steele Creek Division responded to an residence located in the 10500 block of Glory Meadow Court in response to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  When they arrived, officers located the adult female victim and a five year old victim who had been shot, inside the residence.  The victims were transported by MEDIC to the hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The initial investigation has revealed that the shooting occurred while the victims were inside of the residence.  The adult female victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her arm and the child sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound gunshot wound to the leg.

K9 responded to the scene to assist with locating possible suspects. Officers also conducted a canvass of the area to locate any potential witnesses to this crime. Detectives were called in to investigate this incident. Crime Scene Search responded as well to process the scene and collect physical evidence. 

There are no suspects in custody at this time.
