***UPDATE*** Steele Creek Division - Death investigation in the 200 block of Ann Marie Drive

Case Update: Wednesday, July 25, 2018,

The victim has been identified as Samechiko Jeanita Williams, DOB: 4/05/1990.  Her family has been notified of her death.

At this time, the Medical Examiner's Office has listed the cause and manner of death as pending.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.  As additional information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Tuesday, July 24, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a death investigation in the 200 block of Ann Marie Drive in the Steele Creek Division.  The call for service came in at 6:21 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018. 

Steele Creek Division patrol officers responded to death investigation call for service where the caller stated a deceased female had been located on the property.  Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation.  Crime Scene Search also responded and processed the scene and collected physical evidence. 

At this time, the Medical Examiner's Office has listed the cause and manner of death as pending, but no signs of trauma were noted.  Once the Medical Examiner's Office has reviewed all evidence related to the case, CMPD will update the media with the cause and manner of the victim's death.  At this time, the victim's identity is still unknown, but identification methods are in process.
