Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's South Division have charged Theodore Clark, DOB: 04/27/1997, and a 15-year-old male juvenile for their involvement in these cases.
On Friday, October 26, 2018 South Division officers responded to the 17300 block of Baldwin Hall Drive in reference to a larceny of a motor vehicle call for service. The victim stated that the unknown suspect(s) had entered his unlocked vehicle before stealing his second vehicle that had the keys left inside. During the investigation, South Division officers received information from ONSTAR that the vehicle was in the Hickory Grove Division and they immediately notified that division. Hickory Grove Division officers responded to the area and located the occupied vehicle on Mirth Lane and attempted to make contact with the occupants when they jumped and ran from the vehicle. After a foot chase officers located the driver of the stolen vehicle, who was later identified as a 15-year-old juvenile, and the passenger who was later identified as Theodore Clark. The officers were unable to locate a third suspect that ran from the vehicle. While investigating this case, officers discovered 13 additional vehicles that had also been broken into.
Both Clark and the juvenile were transported to the South Division team office where they were interviewed by detectives. At the conclusion of the investigation, both suspects were charged with 14 counts of Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Misdemeanor Larceny. Clark was then transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. The juvenile was taken to a juvenile detention center.
