CATS to Kick-off Bus Priority Study with Community Meeting

CATS is kicking off an effort to address bus-system reliability through a Bus Priority Study (BPS). This study, a component of Envision My Ride, will address reliability by identifying ways to improve travel time.

Join CATS for a virtual community meeting!

Thursday, May 20

5:30 p.m. via Zoom

Throughout the study, staff will work with community members to identify six high frequency corridors for improvements and establish an implementation plan. Following the study, CATS will present the findings to the Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC) for adoption.

Possible improvements may include:

  • Dedicated bus-only lanes and shared bus/bike lanes
  • Traffic signal prioritization and queue-jumps
  • Bus stop amenities including shelters, real-time arrival information, and off-board fare payment
  • Bus stop design improvements to ensure that stops are accessible for all users
  • Mobility Hubs, or enhanced transit stops, to improve transfer connections between buses and other modes of travel, including ride share programs (Lyft & Uber) and bicycles

Community members can provide feedback in a variety of ways.
