You're invited to talk about how Charlotte should grow!

Did you know Charlotte is projected to add 350,000 people and 200,000 jobs over the next 20 years? At the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan Growth Options Workshops, you will learn about the different ways the city could accommodate this growth along with the benefits and tradeoffs associated with each option as part of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

The 2040 Comprehensive Plan will address topics that affect how people experience the city's built environment including characteristics and locations of new businesses, homes, neighborhoods, parks, sidewalks, and bike lanes. The plan will also look at how our built environment can better reflect and advance our community values including equity, transportation, quality of life, economic development, affordable housing, health and safety, and energy and sustainability. Once drafted, the 2040 Comprehensive Plan will enhance our community by affirming shared values, informing land use regulations and guiding investments that help make Charlotte a vibrant and unique city.
