Date: March 13, 2018
Effective: Monday, March 19, 2018
On Monday, March 19, 2018 CATS will be changing several bus routes to connect to the new LYNX Blue Line Extension which opens this Friday, March 16.
Beginning Monday customers transferring from a neighborhood shuttle service to the LYNX Blue Line or to a local bus route can pay the full fare of $2.20 up front on the neighborhood shuttle. Customer’s wishing to pay the full fare on their neighborhood shuttle route should tell the operator prior to inserting your fare. Tell the operator to issue you a Full Fare Transfer. The operator will then press a button to recognize the full fare payment ($2.20 adult or $1.10 Senior/Youth/Disabled) and issue you a transfer good on the LYNX Blue Line or a local bus route.
This is to avoid getting a fare violation on the LYNX Blue Line. If you pay for a shuttle fare of $.90 cents and get a transfer, that transfer is not valid on the LYNX Blue Line since it is not full fare ($2.20 adult or $1.10 Senior/Disabled/Youth). You would then have to purchase a valid pass from the Ticket Vending Machine at the light rail station. To avoid this issue all neighborhood shuttle routes connecting with the LYNX Blue Line can issue a full fare transfer if you pay the full fare when boarding the shuttle service.
