Beginning March 19, 2018, over 20 bus routes will change and over 700 bus stops will be discontinued, added, or changed!! Make sure that you can get to where you are going!
Beginning March 16, 2018, the 9.3-mile LYNX alignment will extend from 7th Street Station in Center City through the NoDA (North Davidson) and University areas, terminating on the UNC Charlotte campus. CATS has adopted service changes to over 20 bus routes and 700 bus stops have been discontinued, added, or changed. Chances are that a bus stop or bus route that you use will change.
Charlotte Area Transit will be hosting a Transportation Fair at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center to discuss upcoming changes to bus routes following the opening of the Blue Line Extension in Spring 2018. Affected routes include the following: 3, 4, 11, 13, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 39, 50, 54, 59, 97, 98, 99, 201, 204, 211, & 232. These routes will be changing significantly in order to better connect to the LYNX Blue Line Extension. In addition, over 700 bus stops will experience altered or discontinued service. The Transit Fair will be held on Thursday, January 25th 2018 at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center in room 270/271. The formats will be open house, where attendees may drop in at any time to discuss the upcoming changes.
CATS staff will also be on hand to discuss Envision My Ride with community members. Envision My Ride is a new initiative that will redesign the current bus system. Riders will be able to learn about current recommendations for the future redesign of the bus system and will be able to offer their input to help guide future development.
