Concord
Kannapolis Area Transit Public Hearing for New Service
Wednesday
and Thursday, December 20 and 21, 2017
Route:
80X Concord Express
With the
expected opening of the LYNX Blue Line Extension, CATS plans to replace the
current Route 80X Concord Express to Uptown Charlotte with a new route operated
by Concord Kannapolis Area Transit (CK Rider) partially funded in partnership
with CATS. CK Rider plans to operate new all-day service between their
Transit Center in Concord and the new JW Clay / UNCC LYNX Station. The
planned name for this new CK Rider service is the CCX – Concord Charlotte
Express.
CK Rider
will be hosting two public hearing sessions at their Transit Center at 3600
Ridge Road in Concord. Staff from both CK Rider and CATS will be at
each public hearing to provide information and address questions and concerns
about the planned new service.
Current
CATS Route 80X customers are strongly encouraged to attend either of the
following scheduled meeting times:
Wednesday,
December 20, 2017, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Thursday,
December 21, 2017, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Both
meeting times are set up for the public to drop-in during any portion of the
two-hour window as an open house. Public input is requested on the new
Concord Charlotte Express route, the elimination of the CATS 80X route, the
proposed regional service fare, and the addition of new pass options.
