CATS Informational Session at UNCC Campus
Routes 11, 29, 47, 49, & 50
On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in conjunction with UNC Charlotte, CATS will be holding an informational meeting to discuss the Bus-Rail Integration Plan and service along the Blue Line Extension (BLE). The service BLE and the Bus-Rail Integration Plan will be implemented in March 2018. In addition to the BLE, CATS staff will discuss current bus service, and proposed bus service on routes 11, 29, 47, 49. CATS staff will also answer questions concerning the use CATS services and the new provider of the Route 47, 49, & 50 for the 2017-2018 UNC Charlotte academic year.
Following the opening of the BLE, the Route 11 would no longer serve the University, but instead turn around near the North Tryon Walmart. The Route 29 would be adjusted to serve John Kirk, similar to the current 11U. No CATS routes are proposed to serve VanLandingham or East Deck. Instead, adjusted CATS routes would serve the University from JW Clay Station, North Tryon Street, Mallard Creek Church Road, John Kirk Drive, and University City Boulevard. Furthermore, the routes 47, 49, & 50 will no longer be serviced by CATS beginning this fall; instead, service throughout the UNCC campus will be offered through a different bus provider.
CATS will be greeting students, faculty, and community members at a table on the UNCC East Deck on Van Landingham Rd from 8:00 am – 10:00 am. CATS is seeking public input regarding these proposed changes, and encourages riders to attend in order to help guide future development.
