CATS to Modify Service, Resume Fare Collection on June 8
Charlotte, N.C. – Beginning June 8, CATS will modify current service levels by increasing frequency on several bus routes and the LYNX Blue Line.
CATS Bus Service
During weekdays, CATS will continue operating the modified service implemented on March 25 and will increase frequency on the following high-ridership routes: 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 21, 27 and 34.
On weekends, bus service will operate according to the regular schedules.
Express Service will continue to operate on the current modified schedule. CATS staff are currently drafting the modified schedule timetables which will be available in the near future. When finalized, the schedules can be found at ridetransit.org.
LYNX Blue Line
From Monday through Saturday, the LYNX Blue Line will operate 15-minute service from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The light rail will operate on a regular Saturday schedule from 7 p.m. until the end of service.
On Sundays, the LYNX Blue Line will operate on a regular Sunday schedule.
On June 1, customers can begin purchasing tickets at the Charlotte Transportation Center or from one of several pass sales locations in the area.
Also beginning June 8, fare collection will resume requiring a valid pass, ticket or cash fare to ride. When presenting the fare, riders should continue to practice social distancing with the operator, fare inspectors, and fellow passengers. On June 1, customers can begin purchasing tickets at the Charlotte Transportation Center or from one of several pass sales locations in the area.
