Demonstrates Support of Transit Workers Amid Health Crisis
Charlotte, N.C.- Today, CATS will participate in a national effort to demonstrate gratitude for transit workers who continue to serve their communitities through the COVID-19 pandemic.
CATS vehicles will emit two, one-second horn blats at 3 p.m. EST, joining transit agencies across multiple time zones.
“Transit service is a lifeline for many essential workers in our community,” said CATS CEO John Lewis. “This demonstration is just one way to recognize the selflessness and courage of transit employees while they continue to serve the heroes of our community.”
The demonstration is spearheaded by Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), together with NJ TRANSIT, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Amtrak, NYC Ferry, and other regional bus and ferry operators.
