A Superior Court Judge has granted a media request authorizing the Charlotte –Mecklenburg Police Department to release body-worn camera video footage of the officer involved shooting incident involving Jonathan Autry which occurred on September 25, 2017.
Due to the graphic nature of the videos, discretion is strongly advised.
On Monday, September 25, 2017, at 10:03 p.m., CMPD officers with the Metro Division responded to a breaking and entering call for service in progress in the 1900 block of Holly Street.
Upon arrival, officers arrived on the scene and encountered Jonathan Autry inside of a home. Mr. Autry exited the home with a pregnant woman he was holding hostage at gunpoint. Officers perceived an imminent deadly threat to the woman and subsequently fired their weapons striking Mr. Autry. The woman was unharmed during the incident and was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Medic responded and transported the Mr. Autry to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office reviewed this matter and found the officers acted lawfully. The DA's Office report of the officer’s findings will be released after the criminal charges against Mr. Autry have been adjudicated.
