***UPDATE*** North Tryon Division - Homicide in the 4500 block of Perth Court

Case Update: Friday, April 26, 2019

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have charged Ennio Ivan Santios-Solorzano, DOB: 10/19/1994, for the murder of Claudio Pedro Palomares, DOB: 07/29/1975, who is the victim in this case.

As a result of the investigation, Santios-Solorzano was identified as a suspect in this case.  He was interviewed by Homicide detectives and has since been transported to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and charged with first degree murder.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4500 block of Perth Court, which is located in the North Tryon Division.  The call for service came in at 3:29 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019.  

North Tryon Division Officers responded to an apartment located in the 4500 block of Perth Court.  Upon their arrival, they located an adult male who had been stabbed multiple times inside the apartment.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  His name will be released once his family has been notified of his death.

The initial investigation has revealed that the victim and the male suspect lived together in the apartment.  A physical altercation took place between the two of them resulting in the suspect being stabbed and killed.  The suspect was also injured during the incident.  The suspect then called 911 and remained at the scene until officers arrived.  The suspect has been transported by MEDIC to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center where he is being treated for the non-life-threatening injury.

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim's Assistance and Operations Command responded to the scene. 

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
