Case Update: Friday, May 03, 2019

The victim in this case has been identified as Victor Kareem Moses, DOB: 07/09/1982.  His family has been notified of his death. 

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Thursday, May 02, 2019

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4100 block of North Tryon Street in the North Tryon Division.  The call for service came in at 1:40 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019. 

North Tryon Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival, officers located one male subject inside of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced him deceased on scene. A second subject was located nearby with a gunshot wound and he was transported to the hospital by Medic with non-life-threatening injuries. The deceased subject's name will be released once family notification has been made.

Responding officers detained a person of interest at the scene and he will be transported to be interviewed by detectives. No additional suspects are being sought by detectives at this time.  

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, CFD, Medic, Special Investigations and Operations Command responded to the scene.
