Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are conducting a shooting investigation that has occurred in the 1100 block of W. Sugar Creek Road. The call for service came in at 11:58 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018. 3 victims have been shot and were transported by MEDIC to Carolina's Medical Center where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
North Tryon Division officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 1120 W. Sugar Creek Road in response to a 911 call stating that multiple people had been shot. Upon their arrival these officers located 2 adult males and 1 adult female who had been shot.
The initial investigation has revealed that the 2 male victims were in verbal confrontation with a male suspect in the McDonalds parking lot located at 1201 W. Sugar Creek Road. These three individuals then walked to the Shell Convenience store located at 1125 W Sugar Creek Road. At the end of the argument the 2 male victims were walking across Sugar Creek Road from the Shell to the 7-Eleven when the suspect began shooting at them. Both of these victims were struck by gunfire. A 3rd victim, an adult female, was pumping gas at the 7-Eleven when she was also struck by a bullet.
