North Tryon Division - Detectives arrest three for multiple robberies

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Armed Robbery Unit have charged Jade Dulin, DOB: 12/16/1995, Jarod Starks, DOB: 03/12/1989, and Terrance Morgan, DOB: 12/24/1991, for their involvement in a series of armed robberies. 

  • On November 7, 2018, at 8:26 a.m., Steele Creek Division Officers responded to a larceny from vehicle call for service in the 7800 block of Nations Ford Road. The victim advised that two suspects took his 2012 Nissan Maxima without permission. (CMPD Report 20181107-0826-01)
  • On November 7, 2018, at 10:47 p.m., North Tryon Division Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 3200 block of Shamrock Dr. The victim advised the suspect brandished a weapon and took property from the victim.  The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle occupied by two other people.   • On November 7, 2018, at 11:26 p.m., North Tryon Division Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 1000 block of Tara Lane. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a suspect brandished a weapon and demanded money from the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle that was occupied by two other people.   • On November 8, 2018 at 3:34 a.m., Central Division Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Tryon, in reference to an armed robbery.  During this robbery the victim was exiting out of the PLS Check Cashing business, when the suspect approached him and displayed firearms and took money from the victims control.  The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle occupied by two other subjects.   • On November 8, 2018 at 4:52 a.m., Eastway Division Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 300 block of Parkwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the suspect brandished a weapon and demanded property from the victim. The suspect fled the scene after obtaining the property in a vehicle.   • On November 11, 2018 at 7:08 p.m., North Tryon Division Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 4400 block of North Tryon Street.  Officers were advised that the armed suspect approached the victim and took his property.  The suspect fired a shot as he fled the scene in a vehicle.   • On November 14, 2018 at 6:11 p.m., North Tryon Division Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 4400 block of North Tryon Street.  The victim advised he was returning to his vehicle when the suspect approached him armed with a crowbar and demanded money.  The suspect left in a vehicle occupied by two other subjects.   • On November 15, 2018 at 11:47 p.m., Independence Division Officers responded to an armed robbery in the 5800 block of Reddman Road.  The victim was walking to her apartment when the armed suspect approached her and took her property.  The suspect fled in a vehicle.  (CMPD Report 20181115-2347-01)

This morning at approximately 12:04 a.m., North Tryon Division Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the armed robbery suspects near Eastway Drive and Shamrock Drive.  Officers initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle failed to stop.  A pursuit ensued and the vehicle came to a stop on Statesville Avenue near I-85.  Dulin, Starks and Morgan were detained and transported to be interviewed.  Officers determined that the vehicle involved in the pursuit, a 2012 Nissan Maxima, was reported stolen from Nation Ford Road on November 7, 2018. 

At the conclusion of interviews, Dulin was charged with Possession of Stolen Vehicle, seven counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and traffic related charges. Starks and Morgan were each charged with seven counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

The investigations are still active and ongoing.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
