North Tryon Division - Detectives arrest sexual assault suspect

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Sexual Assault Unit have charged Ronnie Darrel Carr, DOB: 12/08/1971, for his involvement in this sexual assault case.

On Monday, August 27, 2018, at 7:37 a.m., North Tryon Division officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Hilo Drive in reference to an indecent exposure call for service.  Upon arrival, the victim told responding officers that she was walking her 6-year-old daughter to school when she was approached by a male.  As they got closer to the male, he grabbed the 6-year-old daughter by the arm and pulled on her.  The mother grabbed her daughter and the suspect began to assault her.  The suspect walked off and returned to the scene exposing himself to the victims. 

Responding officers quickly located Carr nearby and placed him under arrest and transported him to police headquarters where he was interviewed by detectives.

Upon completion of the interview, Carr was charged with Indecent Exposure, Sexual Battery, Assault on a Child under 12, and Attempted Kidnapping and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
