Wednesday, April 25, 2018,

On Monday, April 23, 2018, at 11:29 p.m., North Division officers responded to a  motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 5700 block of West W.T. Harris Blvd.  Upon arrival, officers located a 1997 Dodge Ram pick-up truck which had struck a pedestrian in the roadway.  The operator of the 1997 Dodge, Lancer Torain, did not sustain any injury. MEDIC transported the pedestrian, Brandon Lagasse, to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates that Lagasse was skateboarding in the travel lane of West W.T. Harris Blvd at the time he was struck. The victim was wearing dark clothing and the roadway was not lit by street lights. It was raining at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash.
