***UPDATE*** North Division - Homicide in the 9100 block of Feldbank Drive

Charlotte, N.C. - (Thursday, February 6, 2020) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Terrell Tarshawn Howard, DOB: 12/19/1992, for his involvement in this homicide.

As a result of continued investigation, detectives identified Howard as a suspect in this case. Warrants were obtained for his arrest.  On February 5, 2020, Howard came to the Law Enforcement Center, surrendered himself and agreed to speak with Detectives.  After being interviewed by Homicide Unit detectives, Howard was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and charged with Murder,  Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.

Charlotte, N.C. - (Wednesday, January 8, 2020) – The victim in this case has been identified as Devonne Lamonte Smith, DOB: 07/22/1976.  His family has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.

Charlotte, N.C. - (Wednesday, January 8, 2020) –  Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 9100 block of Feldbank Drive in the North Division.  The call for service came in at 3:08 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. 

North Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival, officers located a male inside of a home with a gunshot wound.  He was pronounced deceased on scene by medic.  Another male victim was located in the home with a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital.  The deceased victim's identity will be released pending family notification.  At this time, the relationship between the two victims is unknown.

Homicide Detectives are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any additional witnesses to this incident. 

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, CFD, Medic and Operations Command responded to the scene.
