Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, December 26, 2019) -- The victim in this case has been identified as Anthony Devon Leakes, DOB: 09/24/1979.  His family has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.

Charlotte, N.C. - (Friday, Dec. 23, 2019) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 6200 block of Elliott Drive.

On December 23, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., North Division Officers responded to an Assist Medic call for service.  The victim's girlfriend located him inside the residence and called 911.  When the officers arrived they located the adult male victim who had been shot multiple times.  The victim was pronounced deceased by MEDIC at the scene.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, Charlotte Fire Department, Medic and Operations Command also responded to the scene.
