Case Update: Sunday, October 13, 2019

The victim in this case has been identified as Fabrizio Alejandro Davalos, DOB: 03/26/2003.  His family has been notified of his death.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.

Sunday, October 13, 2019,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 5800 block of Linda Vista Lane in the North Division.  The call for service came in at 12:51 a.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2019. 

North Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival officers located a teenaged male with an apparent gunshot wound lying in the roadway in the 5800 block of Linda Vista Ln.  The victim was transported by MEDIC to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.  The victim's name will be released once family notification has been made. 

Detectives with the Homicide Unit have responded to the scene to conduct the investigation and are canvassing the area to gather additional information.   

The initial investigation has revealed that the victim had just left a party located at a nearby residence prior to the shooting.  He was located in the roadway along with a running unoccupied vehicle that appears to have also been shot into.

Crime Scene Search has responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives from CMPD's Real Time Crime Center, Medic, CFD, and Operations Command responded to the scene.
