***UPDATE*** North Division - Homicide in the 5200 block of Henderson Circle

Case Update: Saturday, September 28, 2019,

The Victim has been identified as Julius Frazier, DOB: 10/24/1992.  His family has been notified of his death.

The shooter has been identified and interviewed.  The investigation is ongoing but detectives have determined they will not file charges at this time. The District Attorney's office will review the detectives' decision.  The shooter's name will not be released unless he is formally charged with a crime in this investigation.

As further information develops, it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Saturday, September 28, 2019,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 5200 block of Henderson Circle in the North Division.  The call for service came in at 1:47 p.m., on Saturday, September 28, 2019.  

North Division patrol officers responded to a Robbery from Person/Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 5200 block of Henderson Circle.  Upon arrival, they located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound in a vehicle parked in a driveway on Henderson Circle.  He was pronounced deceased on scene by MEDIC. 

Homicide Detectives are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. 

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, MEDIC, Charlotte Fire Department, Victim Services, RTCC and Operations Command responded to the scene. 

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops, it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
