On Jan. 30, 2022, at 5:36 p.m. an emergency call for service was received by Charlotte Fire to respond to a medical incident at the 7700 block of Little Ave.
Charlotte Fire apparatus Ladder 24 was responding to the call and was in route to the scene.
At approximately 5:40 p.m. while Ladder 24 was in route, Ladder 24 was involved in a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at the 7700 block of Pineville-Matthews Road at the intersection of Pineville-Matthews Road and McMahan Dr.
The crew of Ladder 24 immediately began treating the patient on scene.
Mecklenburg County EMS transported the driver of the motorcycle to an area hospital. Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Anderson McKendree Fairley (DOB: 11/20/1996) and his next of kin has been notified.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victim of this tragic accident.
The accident is currently under investigation by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
