Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Armed Robbery Unit have charged Rashawn Coleman, DOB: 03/21/1998, for his involvement in this armed robbery.
On Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 12:50 p.m., Metro Division Officers responded to an armed robbery from the Metro PCS store, located at 3101 Freedom Drive. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the suspect entered the business and brandished a weapon. After obtaining the property from the victim business, the suspect the scene. During the investigation, Armed Robbery Unit Detectives along with members from Crime Analysis and the Crime Lab identified Coleman as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Coleman was in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office on an unrelated charged and served the warrant for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
At the time of the March 29, 2018, Metro PCS robbery, Coleman was on probation and was wearing a probation monitor as a result of the court proceedings related to the January 04, 2017 robbery of the Metro PCS, located at 4705 Central Avenue and the January 20, 2017, robbery of the Metro PCS Store, located at 4314 The Plaza.
