***UPDATE*** Metro Division - Homicide in the 400 block of Honeywood Avenue

Case Update: Saturday, September 22, 2018,

The victim in this case has been identified as Tracy Lavette Hudson-Glenn, DOB: 07/11/1970Her family has been notified of her death.

CMPD Detectives have charged Leigh McDaniel Jr. DOB 08/09/1973 with the murder of Hudson-Glenn. As a result of information and evidence gathered at the scene and during the interview, detectives charged McDaniel Jr. with Murder and he has been transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. 

Detectives have determined that the suspect and victim in this case are known to one another. 

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Saturday, September 22, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 400 block of Honeywood Avenue in the Metro Division.  The call for service came in at 2:36 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018. 

Metro Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival, officers located a female with an apparent stab wound.  Medic pronounced the victim deceased on scene.  Her name will be released once her family has been notified.

A male subject of interest was located on scene by responding officers and has been transported to police headquarters to be interviewed by Homicide Detectives.   Homicide detectives are currently speaking with witnesses and are not searching for any additional suspects.  

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services and Operations Command responded to the scene.
