On Friday, April 22, 2016, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will be partnering with “KCB” (Keep Charlotte Beautiful), “KMB” (Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful), and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Solid Waste Management to keep our city clean and beautiful.
An annual littering operation will be conducted by officers throughout the City and Mecklenburg County enforcing the City and State littering laws. Officers will be out in force watching for any littering violation that can range from a cigarette to a sandwich wrapper. Violations will also include individuals who fail to secure loads on pick-ups and debris that comes from the bed of a truck. CMPD and the other partners involved would also like to remind the public to use the proper receptacles when disposing of any trash.
The operation will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22nd and will last 24 hours, ending at midnight.
