Homicide in the Westover Division - July 21, 2021

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday 22, 2021) – The victim in this case has been identified as Michael Camp, DOB: 09/02/1987. His family has been notified of his death.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday 22, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in 1400 block of Pressley Road in the Westover Division. 

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on July 21, 2021, officers responded to an assault with deadly weapon call for service near the 1400 block of Pressley Road. Upon arrival, officers located one victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Atrium Main by medic where he has since succumbed to his injuries a short time later.  

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and the hospital to conduct an investigation , and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Teamresponded to the scene, CMPD's Operations Command, Westover Division Detectives, CFD and MEDIC also assisted.
