Homicide Investigation in the Steele Creek Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, March 13, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 100 block of Kingsford Drive in the Steele Creek Division.
On Sunday, March 19, 2023, shortly after 5:30 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 100 block of Kingsford Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with an apparent stab wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, the Charlotte Fire Department, and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
