Homicide Investigation in the N. Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, July 19, 2021) – The victim in this case has been identified as Joshua Caleb Bullock, DOB: 01/18/1987.  His family has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective.  Detective J. Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, July 19, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the N. Tryon Division

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on July 18, 2021, officers responded to an assault with deadly weapon call for service near the 1100 block of W. Sugar Creek Rd. Upon arrival, officers located one male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to Atrium Main by medic where he has since succumbed to his injuries a short time later. 

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and the hospital to conduct an investigation , and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.
