Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Independence Division---Aug 23, 2021

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, August 26, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Christian Holt, DOB: 12/25/1995, for the murder of D'Andre McLean.

As a result of collaborative work between homicide detectives and the CMPD's Crime Gun Suppression Team, Holt was identified as a suspect, and warrants for murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon were issued for his arrest.  On August 26, 2021, a joint effort between the CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT), North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the United States Secret Service successfully located and arrested Holt without incident.  Following his interview with homicide detectives, Holt was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office where he has been served the outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, August 23, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 1800 block of Tartan Court in the Independence Division

Shortly after 6:50 a.m. on August 23, 2021, officers responded to an Assist Medic call for service near the 1800 block of Tartan Court.  When officers arrived, they located a victim with apparent gunshot wounds.  The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by medic.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, CMPD's Operations Command, Special Investigations Bureau, Victim Services, and Medic also assisted.
