Homicide Investigation in the Hickory Grove Division

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 7400 block of William Reynolds Drive in the Hickory Grove Division.

On Sunday, January 22, shortly after 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon in the 7400 block of William Reynolds Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a juvenile victim with a gunshot wound and arrested one suspect. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD, Medic and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
