Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, October 17, 2021) –  The victim in this case has been identified as Terrell McCreary, D.O.B 07/18/1992.  His family has been notified of his death.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, October 17, 2021) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 4500 block of  Wynbrook Way in the North Division.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on October 17, 2021, officers responded to a death investigation call for service in the 4500 block of Wynbrook Way. Upon arrival, officers located a victim with apparent trauma. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, while Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.   Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, CMPD's Operations Command, Medic and CFD also responded to the scene.
