Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, October 25, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged a 16-year-old juvenile male for the murder of Damian Oliver.

As a result of their continued investigation, Homicide Unit detectives identified the juvenile as a suspect in this case, and a Secure Custody Order was issued for his arrest. On October 25, 2021, detectives with the CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) located and arrested the juvenile without incident. The juvenile was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and charged with Murder.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, October 17, 2021) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 6900 block of Aulton Link Court in the North Division.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. on October 17, 2021, officers responded to an assist Medic call for service in the 6900 block of Aulton Link Court. Upon arrival, officers located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, while Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.   Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, CMPD's Operations Command, and CFD also responded to the scene.
