Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Steele Creek Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, August 19, 2021) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have additionally charged Cyrene Uzziah Wilson-Johnson, DOB: 06/11/1999, for the murder of Terrik Roddey.

As a part of the continued investigation, detectives identified Wilson-Johnson as a suspect in this case and warrants were issued for his arrest.  On August 19, 2021, he was arrested without incident by CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT). Following an interview, Wilson-Johnson was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and charged with Murder, two counts of Discharging a Barreled Weapon or Firearm Into Occupied Property, and two counts of Discharging a Barreled Weapon or Firearm Into Occupied Conveyance in Operation.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, August 12, 2021) Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Christian Elijah Boetius, DOB: 04/05/1995, for the murder of Terrik Roddey.

As a result of their continued investigation, Homicide Unit Detectives identified Boetius as a suspect in this case. On August 12, 2021, officers with CMPD's Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) and K9 Unit apprehended Boetius without incident for an unrelated warrant.  After his arrest, Boetius was transported to the Law Enforcement Center for an interview with Homicide Detectives. Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, August 7, 2021) - The victim has been identified as Terrik Rashad Roddey, DOB: 01/06/1999. His family has been notified of his death.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, August 6, 2021) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 7600 block of Holliswood Court in the Steele Creek Division.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. on August 6, 2021, officers responded to an assault with deadly weapon call for service in the 7600 block of Holliswood Court. Upon arrival, officers located one victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by medic.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, and CFD also assisted.
