***UPDATE*** Hickory Grove Division - Homicide in the 7600 block of Gwynn Hill Road

Case Update: Wednesday, January 2, 2019,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have identified the victim in this case as Randy Lee Tarlton, DOB: 04/02/1994. His family has been notified of his death.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Monday, December 31, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 7600 block of Gwynn Hill Road in the Hickory Grove Division.  The call for service came in at 10:18 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018.

Hickory Grove Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service at a residence located in the 7600 block of Gwynne Hill Road. Upon their arrival officers located an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wounds.  CPR was initiated by officers at the scene, however he was later pronounced deceased by MEDIC.  

Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services and Operations Command responded to the scene.
