Suspect Charged Following Several Recent Indecent Exposure Cases


Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, September 1, 2021) – Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Freedom Division have charged John Frank Graham III, DOB: 10/06/1996, for his involvement in several recent indecent exposure cases.

On August 9, 2021, the victim advised that she was walking near the 5200 block of Freedom Drive when an unknown suspect exposed his genitals and began touching himself.  The victim stated that as she attempted to get away from him, he threatened to harm her with bodily injury.  The victim advised that the same suspect had also done this on two other occasions. Shortly after 11:30 a.m., on August 29, 2021, officers responded to a disturbance call for service in the 1800 block of Teddington Drive.  Upon arrival, the victim stated that an unknown male had been continuously ringing her doorbell. The victim stated that when she refused to open the door, the male proceeded to masturbate in front of her doorbell camera. From information gathered, detectives identified the suspect as Graham, and warrants were issued for his arrest.  On August 30, 2021, Graham was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with Communicating Threats, Indecent Exposure by Exposing Private Parts in Public Place, and an additional misdemeanor for Violation of City Ordinance

Detectives have learned that Graham was also arrested on similar charges on May 31, 2021 (

20210531-1142-02) and August 12, 2021 (20210812-0834-00). Additionally, detectives believe Graham may have been involved in other incidents recently and urge anyone with information to come forward.
