***UPDATE*** Freedom Division - Homicide in the 3900 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road

Charlotte,  N.C. – (Tuesday, March 3, 2020) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Antonio Tawan Rollins, DOB: 01/15/1993, and Requan McCray, DOB: 11/13/1994, for the murder of Demarcus Mack. 

Information and evidence gathered by detectives led them in identifying Rollins and McCray as suspects in this case.  As a result, warrants were obtained for their arrest.  On March 3, 2020, both subjects were arrested and interviewed by homicide detectives.  At the conclusion of interviews, Rollins and McCray were transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and each charged with Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of Discharging Weapon into Moving Vehicle, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, March 1, 2020) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred near the intersection of North Crigler Street and Rozzelles Ferry Road, which is in the Freedom Division.

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, at around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of North Cringler Street and Rozzelles Ferry Road.  When officers arrived, they located evidence of a shooting.  The investigation led officers to determine two subjects who had been shot were transported by private parties to nearby hospitals.  One of the subjects had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the other subject sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.  Homicide Unit detectives responded to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.

On March 1, 2020, the victim who sustained life-threatening injuries succumbed to his injuries.  He has been identified as Demarcus Rashawn Mack, DOB: 07/15/1994.  His family has been notified of his death.
