Case Update: Monday, December 9, 2019 

The victim in this case has been identified as Scott Allen Brooks, DOB: 07/03/1958.  His family has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.  As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.

Monday, December 9, 2019 

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 2700 block of North Brevard Street, which is in the Eastway Division.

On Monday, December 9, 2019, at around 4:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 2700 block of North Brevard Street.  When they arrived, officers located an adult male who had been shot.  The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, Charlotte Fire Department, Medic and Operations Command also responded to the scene.
