***UPDATE*** Eastway Division - Homicide in the 1100 block of Morningside Drive

Charlotte, N.C. - (Friday, April 3, 2020) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged a 16-year-old juvenile for the murder of Reginald Deveaux, DOB: 04/11/2003, who is the victim in this case.

As a result of their investigation, Homicide Unit detectives identified the 16-year-old juvenile as a suspect in this case.  The suspect was arrested and subsequently interviewed by Homicide Unit detectives.  At the conclusion of the interview, the juvenile was transferred to the custody of a juvenile detention center and charged with murder.

Charlotte, N.C. - (Thursday, April 2, 2020) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 1126 Morningside Drive in the Eastway Division.  

On Thursday, April 2, 2020, at around 9:24 p.m., officers responded to a shooting located in the parking lot of the Citgo Station at 1126 Morningside Drive.  When they arrived, they located a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to the hospital by MEDIC with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital approximately 1 hour later.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives from the CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD, and MEDIC also assisted.
