Case Update: Homicide in the Eastway Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, September 9, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Malek Moore for the Murder of Gabryelle Allnutt.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., on September 9, 2021, Moore was arrested in Greensboro, N.C. by the Greensboro Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.  Moore, who is currently held in the Guilford County Jail, will be served with his outstanding warrants from Mecklenburg County while in custody there.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, September 6, 2021) - Detectives with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are requesting the public's assistance in locating Malek Moore, DOB: 06/01/1992, who is wanted for the murder of Gabryelle Allnutt, DOB: 01/29/1992.  Her family has been notified of her death.

As a result of continued investigation, Moore was identified as a suspect in this case, and warrants for Murder, 1st Degree Burglary, and Kidnapping were issued for his arrest.  Moore should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone who sees Moore or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, September 6, 2021) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred in the 400 block of E. 22nd St. in the Eastway Division. 

Around 5:30 a.m., Eastway Division officers responded to a call for service to assist Medic for an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers and Medic located a female who was not breathing, and she was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic. The individual's identity will be released pending family notification. 

Detectives with CMPD's Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Search team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation and collect physical evidence.

The CMPD's Operations Command, Charlotte Fire Department and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team also responded to assist.
