Crime Stoppers increases reward to $40,000 in the murder investigation of Edy Alvarado

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, October 27, 2022) - Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide unit are conducting a murder investigation that took place near the 10800 block of Southern Loop Blvd.

Around 10:54 p.m. on October 9, 2021, officers responded to 10810 Southern Loop Blvd in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon call.  Upon arrival they discovered Edy Alvarado with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. A short time later medic pronounced Mr. Alvarado as deceased. 

Crime Scene responded to process the scene and collect evidence.  Representatives from the Steele Creek division and Medic also assisted.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
