City of Charlotte announces service changes for holiday weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 13, 2017) – With the holiday weekend approaching, City of Charlotte residents could notice some changes to regularly scheduled city services.

City offices will be closed on Friday, April 14, in observance of the holiday.

Some additional service updates include:

CharMeck 311

CharMeck 311 offices will be closed Friday, April 14.

CharMeck 311's normal hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Outside of regular business hours, callers can report water, sewer, storm water and animal emergencies via an automated service that dispatches assistance. You can also make many service requests online 24/7 at

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS)

On Friday, April 14, CATS will operate buses, trains and streetcar according to its regular weekday schedule. However, CATS Pass Sales offices at the Charlotte Transportation Center and the Call Center will be closed.

Regular services will resume on Saturday, April 15.

Solid Waste Services (SWS)

SWS will operate on a normal schedule.​
