Mecklenburg County, N.C.– Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and its partners are holding events March 19-26 recognizing a week of caring for our creeks. There will be more than a dozen educational and volunteer opportunities available for all ages this Creek Week. Volunteers will teach the community about our precious waterways and how to keep them clean and healthy.

Residents can sign up to make a rain barrel, clean a stream near their neighborhood, spend a lunch hour volunteering, or enjoy family story time with Stormy the Storm Water Turtle. From Saturday, March 19 through Saturday, March 26 there are activities each day. The week concludes with The Big Spring Clean on Saturday, March 26, 9 a.m. - noon, as hundreds of residents gather at creek locations around Charlotte-Mecklenburg for a big, one-day cleanup event.
