Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at 201 S. College Street.  This incident occurred on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The initial investigation has revealed that an adult male victim was outside 201 S. College Street when another male (suspect) robbed him of personal belongings.  A fight ensued and the victim was able to get some of his stolen items back.  The suspect then pointed a firearm at the victim, before leaving the scene.  The victim chose not to call 911 at that time.

At approximately 2:30 a.m.,  the victim had realized that the suspect still had possession of the victim's vehicle keys so he could not leave.  The suspect returned to where the victim was waiting and shot at the victim with a handgun.  No one was injured.  The suspect then fled on foot into at nearby parking deck on 4th street.

CMPD Central Division officers responded to the scene and were able to locate and arrest the suspect.  His name and charges will be available once he has been formally charged at the Magistrate's Office.  The handgun the suspect used in this crime was located in the parking deck.
