Case Update: Public’s Assistance Requested in Homicide Investigation

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 7100 block of Snow Lane in the Independence Division.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are requesting the public's assistance in locating the victim's vehicle taken during the recent homicide on Snow Lane.  

 

The Mercedes Benz C250, with NC license plate number, TJV-4843 (pictured below), is believed to be connected to the murder of Ahylea Willard (DOB 09/02/1990) in the 7100 block of Snow Lane on October 23, 2022.    

 

The location and occupants are unknown at this time.  The vehicle has been entered into the NCIC in connection to the murder.

Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Independence Division

 

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, October 24, 2022) – The deceased subject in this case has been identified as Ahylea Willard (DOB 09/02/1990).  

  

Ms. Willard's family has been notified of her death.

Homicide Investigation in the Independence Division

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, October 23, 2022) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 7100 block of Snow Lane in the Independence Division.

 

On Sunday, October 23, 2022, shortly before 10:30 a.m., Independence Division officers responded to check the welfare call for service in the 7100 block of Snow Lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered one gunshot victim and was pronounced deceased by Medic.

 

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Medic and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
