Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 3500 block of W. Tyvola Road in the Westover Division.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, January 3, 2023) – The victim in this case has been identified as Raymond Ningmua Ayumbi Ntungwen (DOB: 06/18/1994). The victim's next of kin has been notified of his death.

 

In the hours following this incident, University City Division officers responded to a call for service where an individual stated he wanted to turn himself in.  Officers made contact with this individual and transported him to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Uptown.  Following the interview, Michael Pringle (DOB: 01/30/1994), was charged with Murder.  He was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.

 

The victim's next of kin has also been notified of the arrest in this case.

Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

 

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, January 1, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 3500 block of W. Tyvola Road in the Westover Division.

On Sunday, January 1, 2023 at approximately 1:15 p.m., Westover Division officers responded to an Assist Medic call in the 3500 block of W. Tyvola Road. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, the Charlotte Fire Department, Medic, Victim Services, and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.
