Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Hickory Grove Division

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, September 27, 2022) – The victim in this case has been identified Tahiti Henderson (DOB: 1/06/1991). The victim's family has been notified of his death.

 

On 9/23/2022, as a result of the quick response by the Hickory Grove Division, and de-escalation commands given, Johnny Warren (DOB: 3/21/77), was arrested and charged with murder by the CMPD Homicide Unit.

 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective. Homicide Investigation in the Hickory Grove Division

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday September 23, 2022) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 6400 block of Albemarle Road in the Hickory Grove Division.

 

On Friday September 23, 2022 just after 2:00 pm., officers responded to an  assault with a deadly  weapon call in the 6400 block of Albemarle Road.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. Medic Responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

 

Patrol Officers responded to the scene and encountered an armed male subject. They de-escalated the situation and took the subject into custody. Homicide and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, Charlotte Fire and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.
